If you are choosy like me in terms of written (and hidden) ingredients from food to beauty products then you should take a good look at the label before buying each of them.
It’s extremely important to go organic and be careful.
There are thousands of chemicals and among them, so many are absorbed into our body.
The few chemical you should always avoid:
Parabens: Parabens are the preservatives used in beauty products. They are associated with breast cancer.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) & Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES): This you can find in almost every foaming product and they are responsible for kidney and respiratory diseases.
Formaldehyde: Formaldehyde preservatives are used in cosmetics products to prevent bacterial growth. These are responsible for related cancers such as nasal and nasopharyngeal. It may cause allergic skin reactions and can be harmful to the immune system too.
Toluene: Toluene is a petrochemical used as a solvent to dissolve paint and paint thinner. It is toxic and can damage your immune system, cause allergies, affect your respiratory system. Expecting mothers should avoid this as it may damage the fetus.
Propylene glycol: Its used as a skin conditioning agent and can cause dermatitis and hives in humans.
Sunscreen chemicals: These are endocrine disruptors and are used to absorb the ultraviolet rays. These chemicals are endocrine disruptors and are believed to be easily absorbed into the body. They may cause cellular damage and cancer. They are commonly known as PABA, benzophenone, homosalate, avobenzone, and methoxycinnamate.
Triclosan: Triclosan is the endocrine disruptor which according to the studies, may cause bacteria antibiotic resistant.
Fragrance: These are the secret formula of a company which can be hazardous to health. It may cause dermatitis, allergies or respiratory distress.
Before buying notice your product label and try to find out FD&C
(food drug and cosmetics) or D&C with a color and number (e.g., D&C Red 23 or FD&C blue 5). Synthetic colors are suspected to be, a skin irritant called human carcinogen
and are linked to ADHD in children. The European Union has banned
it because they think it’s a human carcinogen.
Think twice before you buy. Educate yourself and use your precious time to research well.
I would love to hear from you anything new update regarding this topic. Are you going to be a serious investigator before grabbing the thing you love? Let me know about it in the comments.
